Well placement rules on a plot

Poland · Auxiliary · depends on foundation

A drinking-water well is normally 5 m from the boundary, 15 m from livestock buildings, sealed waste/compost tanks and septic tanks, 30 m from biologically treated infiltration drainage, and 70 m from untreated infiltration fields.

Placement rules

A drinking-water source should be planned before septic and compost locations are fixed.

Boundary setback

Setbacks from plot boundaries and neighbouring buildings.

To plot boundary At least 5 m; a shared boundary well is possible if the other §31 distances hold Poland — technical conditions for buildings and their location (§12, §31, §34–36)

Sanitary zone

Sanitary protection distances to wells, drinking water and dwellings.

Well / borehole sanitary zone
To infiltration drainage 30 m after biological treatment; 70 m without it Poland — technical conditions for buildings and their location (§12, §31, §34–36)

Important limitation

The catalog is a planning aid, not a legal opinion. Before construction, check the land plot category, local land-use and development rules, easements, utility protection zones and neighbour buildings.
