Outdoor toilet placement rules

Poland · Auxiliary · usually lightweight

A cesspit/septic tank is allowed where sewer connection is unavailable and outside protected, flood-risk and floodplain areas. For tanks up to 10 m³ at a single-family plot: normally 5 m from dwelling windows/doors and 2 m from the boundary, road or pedestrian route; a covered tank may sit at the boundary next to the neighbour’s equivalent tank.

Placement rules

A high-sensitivity sanitary object: place it only after checking wells, houses and local sanitation rules.

Boundary setback

Setbacks from plot boundaries and neighbouring buildings.

To boundary / road / pedestrian route At least 2 m; check the boundary exception in §36 Poland — technical conditions for buildings and their location (§12, §31, §34–36)

Sanitary zone

Sanitary protection distances to wells, drinking water and dwellings.

Important limitation

The catalog is a planning aid, not a legal opinion. Before construction, check the land plot category, local land-use and development rules, easements, utility protection zones and neighbour buildings.
