Open-fire facility
Barbecue grill placement rules on a plot
Spain · Auxiliary · usually lightweight
A built barbecue with a chimney is a fire installation: keep the protective distance from the neighbour's wall (per local rules), leave a clear area around it, and remember outdoor fire is restricted near forest land in the high-risk season.
Placement rules
A brazier has a smaller fire-safety envelope than an open campfire, but still needs a clear area.
Distance to neighbour wall (chimney/oven)
Protective distance per local rules (Civil Code art. 590)
Spanish Civil Code, Article 590 (constructions near a neighbour's wall: wells, sewers, ovens, chimneys, stables, corrosive deposits) — distances per local regulations/customs
Use near forest land
Prior notice required for barbecue within 50 m of forest in high-risk season (Madrid; 15 Jun–30 Sep)
Madrid: fire on forest land prohibited; barbecue within 50 m of forest needs prior notice; high-risk season 15 Jun–30 Sep
Important limitation
The catalog is a planning aid, not a legal opinion. Before construction, check the land plot category, local land-use and development rules, easements, utility protection zones and neighbour buildings.
