Outdoor shower placement rules

France · Auxiliary · usually lightweight

An outdoor shower has no national setback of its own, but its greywater must drain into your sanitation system, not run off to a neighbour; if the plot is on non-collective sanitation, the treatment unit keeps the standard distances (5 m to a building, 35 m to a well).

Placement rules

A seasonal sanitary structure where drainage and distance to the house matter.

Sanitary zone

Sanitary protection distances to wells, drinking water and dwellings.

Bathhouse / shower distance
Greywater drainage Must drain into your own sanitation, not toward a neighbour Inter-ministerial portal on non-collective sanitation (ANC)

Other conditions

Runoff, shading and other local-code conditions.

If on non-collective sanitation Treatment unit ≥5 m from a building, ≥35 m from a well ANC (septic) implantation distances per NF DTU 64.1

Important limitation

The catalog is a planning aid, not a legal opinion. Before construction, check the land plot category, local land-use and development rules, easements, utility protection zones and neighbour buildings.
