Septic tank distance to house, well and boundary — Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan

For a private household, the official sanitary guidance gives at least 10 m from the closed watertight septic installation to the dwelling. A non-centralized drinking-water intake is placed at least 50 m upstream in groundwater flow from pollution sources. No verified universal national septic-to-boundary figure is stated in these sources.

Distances and rules

A septic tank is placed at a distance from the house — so it does not undermine the foundation and odour does not reach the windows — and well away from any drinking-water source, since leaks can contaminate a well or borehole. A setback from the boundary is also kept so the tank stays accessible for servicing and pumping.

To dwelling in a private household At least 10 m for a closed watertight septic installation Kazakhstan — official sanitary guidance for private-house septic installations
To non-centralized drinking-water intake At least 50 m, with the water intake upstream in groundwater flow Kazakhstan — sanitary rules for drinking-water sources (Order No. 26, current Adilet text)
To plot boundary / fence No universal national figure verified here; confirm the local planning and sanitary conditions and keep service access Local rules

Important limitation

This is a planning aid, not a legal opinion. Before construction, check the local land-use rules, easements, the network/utility operator’s requirements and neighbour buildings.
