Where to place a swimming pool on the plot

Compare complete placement options before fixing the pool position. A visually attractive empty area may still conflict with water runoff, maintenance access or everyday routes.

Sun and wind Mark direct sun by time of day and the prevailing wind; compare exposure rather than assuming the warmest corner.

Terrain and runoff Keep observed storm-water paths separate from the pool area and verify soil, groundwater, drainage and structural decisions with specialists.

Trees and debris Draw mature crowns and note where leaves, seeds and shade reach the water; do not infer root safety from crown distance alone.

Equipment and service route Reserve a real route and working area for equipment, cleaning and future repairs before filling the remaining space with decking.

Daily use and supervision Check the route from the house, wet-foot traffic and visibility from occupied areas; provide site-specific barriers and safe access where required.
