Planting
Tree and shrub distance from the fence
Czechia
Unless another regulation or local custom provides otherwise, Civil Code Section 1017 gives 3 m for trees normally growing above 3 m and 1.5 m for other trees. The rule has statutory exceptions and applies where the neighbour has a reasonable reason.
Distances and rules
Tall trees are planted farthest from the boundary, shrubs closest, so crown and roots do not shade or damage the neighbour’s plot or utilities.

Important limitation
This is a planning aid, not a legal opinion. Before construction, check the local land-use rules, easements, the network/utility operator’s requirements and neighbour buildings.
